Marking one year of his second term in the White House, US President Donald Trump has once again claimed to have stopped an India-Pakistan war, listing it among the major achievements of his first 365 days back in office.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Tuesday, Trump reiterated that he stopped eight wars. “I settled eight wars,” he said, claiming that India and Pakistan were going to go nuclear in their four-day conflict in May last year.

“Eight planes shot down. They were going to go nuclear in my opinion,” he said, crediting himself for saving millions of lives.

“The prime minister of Pakistan was here, and he said President Trump saved 10 million people and maybe much more than that,” he added. “They’re both nuclear countries.”

“When you look at India and Pakistan, that could have been 10, 15, 20 million people,” he further claimed.

After the deadly April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, India had launched Operation Sindoor to target terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The operation led to a full-scale military conflict between the two countries, with both sides launching a series of missile and drone attacks on each other.

India’s unmatched firepower forced Pakistan to seek a ceasefire. Irrespective of Trump’s repeated claims, New Delhi has maintained that the ceasefire was directly negotiated between the Director General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan.

While India has never officially acknowledged Trump’s role, Pakistan has given credit to the US President for stopping the conflict. Islamabad even nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, but he was not considered for the same.

The US President also expressed his grievance over not being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. “Should have gotten the Nobel Prize for each war. But I don’t say that. I saved millions and millions of people.”

He further rejected the Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store’s claim that it was the Nobel committee that decided the peace prize and not the Norwegian government.

“Don’t let anyone tell you that Norway doesn’t control the shots, okay? It’s in Norway. Norway controls the shots. That’s why I have such respect for Maria (the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner), doing what she did. She said, ‘I don’t deserve the Nobel Prize.’ He does,” he said.

‘365 Wins in 365 Days’

Later, the White House released a press statement highlighting the US President’s achievements in the first year in office.

“Trump returned to office with a resounding mandate to restore prosperity, secure the border, rebuild American strength, and put the American people first,” the White House said.

In just 365 days, the White House added, “President Trump has delivered truly transformative results with the most accomplished first year of any presidential term in modern history.”

From negative net migration for the first time in 50 years to the largest homicide drop on record, trillions in reshored investments, peace deals ending multiple wars, record energy production, and massive bureaucracy cuts, President Trump has put America First with urgency — and he’s just getting started, the White House claimed.
